"A day in grey"

Thursday, November 21, 2013

I recently have been trying to participate in the Coast to Coast Challenge that Coast to coast central hosts. My previous post of "Tulle & Leather" was actually featured on their blog! I don't think I could have been more excited. For me only doing this for a couple of weeks and getting a shout out on a blog  that I love to read…so unreal! Everyone check out my little shout out :) Today the challenge was "Dressed in Grey." One things for sure I was ready for this one. I kinda have an obsession with the perfect color grey. There is nothing like a simple grey tee, scarf or blazer.

So here is my day in grey. This FREE PEOPLE Drippy Jersey Dress is something that everyone should stop what they are doing right now & go buy. It not only is so comfortable but it can be worn two different ways. You can wear it as a dress like I have in the photo above or tuck the front part into jeans or shorts to give the back a dramatic look. By having this simple dress I'm able to throw things in to make it fun without going overboard. It just goes to show you mixing two prints can actually compliment each other in ways you never knew they could. In doing so I make sure of two things…one that I have at least one Solid color & two that each printed piece has at least one or two matching colors. This allows everything to kinda blend together. Don't be scared to mix&match & step out of the box. The outfits I'm unsure about usually end up being the outfits I get the most compliments on.

Aren't these booties the most amazing thing? I don't think I will ever love a pair a shoes more than these. The aztec detail add so much more than just having a plain black boot. They look great with dresses, skirts, shorts and even a super skinny jean.

Oh boy was I one lucky girl when I stumbled upon this scarf on Etsy. I can sit there for hours just scrolling looking for vintage tee's, scarfs, jewelry. Some of the best things I own have actually come from there. Vintage finds are my huge weakness. Has anyone else been lucky finding pieces on Etsy? Feel free to share your thoughts and comments below.
